Meet Your Physical Therapists

We are so excited to be opening in Watertown, which is where I live with my husband Joe. What a great commute to work! We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and allow you to learn a little more about the both of us.

I graduated from Quinnipiac University with my Bachelor’s Degree in 2007, with the President’s Scholarship Award, having the highest ranking of my class. I am proud of that! I graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Quinnipiac University in December 2009 and began working as a Physical Therapist in January of 2010. I can’t say enough positive things about Quinnipiac. I’m pretty sure I bleed blue and yellow.

I have worked in outpatient Physical Therapy since 2010, and have loved every second of it. I advanced my degree by becoming an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2014. I also do some graduate teaching at Quinnipiac’s Physician Assistant Program in the summer, assisting in the cadaver lab. It’s an awesome experience that keeps my mind sharp, just like the scalpel! I am always so impressed by the caliber of students in the program.

I have always loved school, even from a young age. I was definitely a nerd growing up, and I’m proud of that too! I enjoy teaching students and patients alike. My goal is to have my patients feel completely listened to and cared for, and I want them to know they have Amber and I, both educated professionals, working for them with their best interest in mind!

Aside from the books, I enjoy all sports really, especially soccer, tennis, dance and track. I like cooking and baking as well, so I try to stay active at the gym! My family and friends are just the best, and I try to spend as much time with them as possible.

Amber Hayes- well she’s awesome. Also a graduate of Quinnipiac University Physical Therapy program, she graduated first in her undergraduate class in 2010, and also earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012 from Quinnipiac. Just a couple of smarty-pants! I guess nerds find nerds...and we couldn't be happier! She has been working as an outpatient Physical Therapist since early 2013.

Amber and her husband Brendan live in Torrington, so her commute is a bit longer than mine. But she does have family roots to Watertown! She is a native to Connecticut, born and raised a New Englander. (I on the other hand grew up on the Jersey Shore...sigh...I miss it!) She is also a sports enthusiast, enjoying running, hiking and volleyball.

Amber also has just about 5 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine. She does amazing work with patients with chronic pain and has taken numerous classes in manual therapy and myofascial therapy. It’s awesome working with her, because she fixes me on a weekly basis! She is truly compassionate and, if I do say so myself, we compliment one another nicely. You could say we go together like...bread and butter...salt and pepper...Q and U (where are my Quinnipiac grads?!).....ok, I'm sure you get it (and I promise we will cool it with the Quinnipiac references). Anyway, we have formed a great working partnership as well as a friendship.

Amber and I worked together previously for nearly 5 years and learned we had the same vision and drive. It’s what motivated us to take the leap of faith and start our own clinic. We knew we had the skill and compassion and know the rest will fall into place.

I hope this provided a little bit of insight to the physical therapists that will be treating you. We plan to get you feeling better and have a lot of fun in the process! We look forward to assisting you on your journey at Connect Physical Therapy LLC!
